Turning the Page on Rainforest Destruction: Children’s Books and the Future of Indonesia’s Rainforests (by Rainforest Action Network)

From stopping littering to addressing climate change, stories found in children’s books often help instill the first concepts of environmental stewardship. Ironically, a growing number of these books are made from paper linked to the destruction of Indonesia’s rainforests. Independent laboratory testing commissioned by Rainforest Action Network found wood fiber linked to the clearing and conversion of Indonesia’s rainforests in the paper of some of America’s favorite children’s books.

Simple Steps Children’s Book (by tad carpenter)

Was a huge honor to illustrate this childrens book with Chronicle Books in San Francisco. The book written by Molly Smith in conduction with The NRDC which is the Nation Resource Defense Council and a wonderful cause. The book is an activity book that teaches children ways they can help protect their environment and some the species within it. Was really fun to work on a great project. Not to mention the last two pages has more than 80 full color stickers to use throughout the book! So fun!

These little picture books are SO FUCKING ADORABLE.

Here’s the modest-est ‘about me’ section you’ll ever read:

Thank you for visiting! I build these dioramas and everything in them to make stories for you. I post new stories once or twice a month. I hope you like them!

The stories are to be read from the top down.

Of COURSE I LIKE THEM, THEY’RE ADORABLE.

I also blogged the picture below straight from the artist’s (Rebecca M. Dudley) Flickr account.
